The OG of Climate Change: Syukuro Manabe


After finishing his doctorate at the University of Tokyo in 1959, he went to America to begin work at the U.S. Weather Bureau. There, he developed the first-ever 3D model investigating the atmospheric response to changing greenhouse gas concentrations.

Yes, you read that correctly,

this is the guy who predicted climate change.

Two months ago at the age of ninety, “Suki” was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his discovery. Suki currently serves as the Senior Meteorologist at Princeton University.
